New Houses in Chandler, AZ
Chandler traces its history back to the namesake veterinarian surgeon Dr. Alexander Chandler who established the town as Chandler Ranch around the turn of the 20th Century. A suburb of Phoenix located south of the city of Mesa, Chandler was home to the very first golf resort in Arizona in 1913. Chandler's population has swelled to nearly a quarter million people. It has a pleasant desert climate that is ideal for snowbirds. Average winter temperatures are in the high 60s. Chandler is a reasonably affluent city with median household income of over $70,000 annually. Originally an agricultural community centered around cotton farming, Chandler is now a hub for high tech manufacturing. One of the largest employers in Chandler is Intel, the giant computer chip manufacturer. Other high tech employers in the city are Microchip Technology, Freescale Semiconductor, Verizon Wireless, Avnet and Orbital Sciences. Chandler Community Services Department maintains a diverse portfolio of libraries, parks, swim centers, museums, centers for the arts, and other recreation facilities
